Stop Motion Animation PDF Print E-mail
This workshop is designed to teach participants how to use claymation software to create their own stop motion video. Participants will capture images using a webcam, create characters, apply small changes, and add background images and music to create their own claymation movies.

Teachers will gain an insight and develop the skills necessary to be able to incorporate this technology into their classroom.

After participating in this workshop teachers will be able to:

  • Develop a storyline and script
  • Use a storyboard to plan an animation
  • Develop backdrops, use green screen and chroma key technologies
  • Create characters from plasticine, lego or other materials
  • Shoot and edit an animation using software provided.

At the conclusion of the workshop participants will receive a CD with their final animation loaded onto it.

Session 1 - Syllabus links & Storyboard ideas

Learn how we can bring students work in the classroom to life through animation.

Session 2 - Creating the story

The first step in the planning stage is to create a story. We will give you the tools necessary to achieve this.

Session 3 - Creating the scene

Creating an effective scene is an important part of a successful animation. Learn how backgrounds, props, music and sound effects come together in stop-motion animation.

Session 4 - Creating characters & props

Time to get the hands dirty creating your very own characters out of plasticine!

Session 5 - Shooting & Editing

Learn the techniques of moving characters and using the equipment provided to create your movie.

Session 6 - Producing your movie

Time to pull in all the pictures, music, sounds and titles to produce your very own stop-motion animation.
