Matthew Gillard

mg Matthew completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Recreation & Human Movement) in 1997 and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) in 1998. In 1999 he began his teaching career at Grantham High School (now known as Hills Sports High School) before moving to Quakers Hill High School in 2000 to take up a permanent teaching position. In 2001 he qualified for the award of "Teacher's Certificate" from the NSW Department of Education & Training and in 2004 was promoted to the position of Head Teacher - Computing Studies. In 2007 he completed a Graduate Certificate in Information & Communications Technology Education. He has also been a relieving Deputy Principal on several occasions.

 

Over the last ten years Matthew has had many experiences in providing professional development to teachers including:

  • TILT Plus PDHPE
  • Child Protection
  • First Aid & Resuscitation
  • Water Safety
  • Various computer software programs
  • Computer Hardware
  • Integration of technology into the classroom
Skills that have been developed through these experiences include:
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Practical computing skills
  • Development of effective learning principles
  • Readings and reflections on the general principles of technology in an educational environment
